As followers of Christ, we believe we are God’s stewards, called to manage what He gives us. Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has generously provided. His Word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving. Whether you’d like to give a single gift, schedule ongoing donations, or view your giving history, you can do it all online. Online giving is quick, easy, and secure. By clicking the link above, you can give your tithes and offerings, as well as support the 1×1x41 goals. Thank you for your support!
Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7 (NLT)
Q: What do you do with offerings?
A: In short, whatever God leads us to do. Like any church, we have operating costs to provide weekly Worship Services for adults, preschool, children & youth, maintaining facilities for four locations, offices & the PEACE House used for missions, and paying staff salaries. The offerings support the ministries in our church including discipleship, divorce care, small groups, & premarital counseling just to name a few. We also help the needs of our community through ministries such as the Food Pantry, Samaritans Closet and Benevolence. We strongly support missions work throughout our region, the nation and the entire globe. However God leads us to use the offerings, one thing you can be assured of – we strive to maintain the highest levels of financial integrity, regularly audited by an outside source. Click here to see the results of our latest audit, conducted in November 2009.
Q: What are the different ways I can give?
A: There are several ways you can give:
Q: Why should I give online?
A: It’s a personal preference, but here are a few of the benefits we hear frequently:
Q: How can I participate in the offering during services if I give online?
A: You can use the offering envelopes and write on it “I gave online.”
Q: How do I give online?
A: Click the “Click here to Give Online” button and follow the prompts to create an account and set up your contribution. If you would prefer, you can also download and turn in this form to the church office and we will set up online giving for you.
Q: Can I test this by giving one time?
A: Yes. You may test Online Giving by selecting “One Time” in the frequency drop down box of the signup process.
Q: Why is it required to enter a contribution date when giving one time?
A: This allows you the flexibility to schedule your contribution ahead of time.
Q: What is an e-check?
A: An e-check is an “electronic check”. You will need to enter your routing number and account number of the checking or savings account you want to use for your contribution.
Q: Why can’t I find a submit button?
A: Once you enter your information, click on the gray box that says “Schedule New Contribution”. This acts as a typical submit button.
Q: How do I know if it worked?
A: You will receive a pop up message that says “Your Scheduled Contribution has been successfully saved.” You will also receive an email confirmation each time your scheduled contribution is processed.
Q: Can I set up my giving to automatically come out of my account on a recurring basis?
A: Yes. On the signup screens, you can specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, every other week (bi-weekly), twice per month (1st and the 15th), monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
Q: Once I set up a scheduled contribution, can I change it or delete it?
A: Yes. Once you log into your account, you will see an “edit” and “delete” link to the left side of each scheduled contribution. You can either delete your scheduled contribution, change your frequency, amount, banking information, or date.
Q: Can I view how much I have contributed?
A: At any time you can view your record of “online” giving by scrolling down the online giving page to the “Contribution History” section. This section will provide each donation you made, when you made it, and a year-to-date total. We also send year end statements directly to your home address.
Q: Is online giving secure?
A: Yes! We’ve taken steps to ensure that online giving is safe and secure. All of your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer”, a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions.
Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions?
A: Contact our Finance Department at the church office at 276.628.3297 or email lora@highlandsfellowship.com and we’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
